Summer at the Old Bridge
Our scheduled programs are on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. The Bridge and Museum are open Tuesday 5-8 p.m. and Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday from 10 until 1.
Tuesdays alternate between Family Fun Night and our Speaker Series, all with fun and interesting activities.
June 27 Gerry Strickland--How to Build a Bridge with working scale models of both the old and new bridge.
July 11 Family Fun Night--Super Heroes
July 18 Jim McKee--Civil War Defenses A fascinating look at mines and other explosive devices, including a demonstration by historian Jim McKee complete with authentic uniform & artifacts.
July 25 Family Fun Night--Christmas in July
August 1--Tales from the Bridge Tender Roger McPherson,one of the last bridge tenders will share stories from his experiences working at the bridge.
August 8--Pirate Night
August 15--Al Nord-Growing Up Coastal Learn all about life along the coast as Al weaves stories and shares how crab pots, flounder gigs, and homemade fish hooks were part of daily life as he grew up.
Wednesday morning Young Explorers has a variety of topics, all of which include a learning activity, a craft project to take home and a snack.
All of our activities are weather permitting. Events are free and donations are cheerfully accepted.
