The Third Annual Strawberry & Wine Fest will be held on Sunday, April 26 at Silver Coast Winery. We have a great band, delicious food and terrific vendors and sponsors. Make plans now to attend and enjoy a beautiful spring Sunday!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this Fall and Winter:

We had a wonderful evening at Christmas at the Old Bridge on Monday, December 8 even though a rain shower shortened our program. It’s our gift to our community, and it was great seeing neighbors, new friends, and old friends.

Halloween at the Old Bridge was a spooky fun time on October 25. Ghosts, goblins and other assorted creatures had fun and games, refreshments, and a costume contest.

The weekend of October 17 we were delighted to host students from Massey Hill Classical High School in Fayetteville. They are producing a documentary about our favorite subject---The Old Bridge of course! This talented and award winning group spent hours researching, interviewing and filming members of OBPS and other residents of Sunset Beach. We can’t wait to see the finished product!!

On Saturday, October 4, we were at Sunset at Sunset, the annual community block party. Many friends, both old and new stopped by our booth at the festival to say hello and pick up some Old Bridge merchandise.

Check out this piece from WRAL’s Tar Heel Traveler about the bridge and our new museum!

Time Warner Cable News featured us in a piece you can watch by clicking here.

The Old Bridge was mentioned in USA Today on July 11.

Our annual Fourth of July at the Old Bridge was fantastic! Loads of bikes, wagons, and strollers set off the by red, white and blue were a sight to behold. Fun and games followed and several photos of our parade goers were featured in the Brunswick Beacon.

On June 24, popular author Marybeth Whalen was here to sign copies of her new book, The Bridge Tender. You can buy a copy  online or in the Old Bridge Store. She signed books on the old Bridge Tender’s desk in our museum. How’s that for special?   Click here to order online.

On June 17 at 5:00 p.m., we hosted a ribbon cutting with the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce at the Bridge. It was a big day for this special event AND our Summer at the Old Bridge programs began that evening!

ATMC featured us in this story for the June edition of Our Hometown and  we were delighted to talk about the museum and our upcoming summer programs.

We achieved a long planned goal by opening our museum on May 24.

On May 22, we were deeply honored to receive a Preservation Award from the Historic Wilmington Foundation.

We had a successful Strawberry & Wine Fest on May 3 at Silver Coast Winery!!

We were recently mentioned in a travel article by Zenda Douglas for the Winston Salem Journal. Read it here!
