Old Bridge Preservation Society

2014 has been an eventful year so far at the Old Bridge! We had a successful Strawberry & Wine Fest on May 3 and achieved a long planned goal by opening our museum on May 24.

ATMC featured us in this story for the June edition of Our Hometown and  we were delighted to talk about the museum and our upcoming summer programs.

You can now order our most popular items online. Check out Merchandise from the Old Bridge.

Summer at the Old Bridge is off and running!

On May 24, we were deeply honored to receive a Preservation Award from the Historic Wilmington Foundation.

On June 17 at 5:00 p.m., we hosted a ribbon cutting with the Brunswick County Chamber of Commerce at the Bridge. It was a big day for this special event AND our Summer at the Old Bridge programs began that evening!

On June 24, popular author Marybeth Whalen was here to sign copies of her new book, The Bridge Tender. You can buy a copy  online or in the Old Bridge Store. She signed books on the old Bridge Tender’s desk in our museum. How’s that for special?   Click here to order online.

Our annual Fourth of July at the Old Bridge was fantastic! Loads of bikes, wagons, and strollers set off the by red, white and blue were a sight to behold. Fun and games followed and several photos of our parade goers were featured in the Brunswick Beacon.

The Old Bridge was mentioned in USA Today on July 11.

Time Warner Cable News featured us in a piece you can watch by clicking here.

We were recently mentioned in a travel article by Zenda Douglas for the Winston Salem Journal. Read it here!

We’re excited to announce that our Old Bridge Cookbook, which was sold out, has been reprinted. So many of you have asked for the cookbook and we’re delighted to bring it back! Click here to order.

In Memoriam
July 10,1932--July 16, 2014

Edward M. Gore, Sr. was our beloved friend and a Director of OBPS. He inspired us to persevere, encouraged our dreams, and applauded our successes. Saving the Old Bridge paid tribute to his father, Mannon C. Gore, and now we pay tribute to him.
