April was full of interesting events! We were delighted to present the Sunset Beach premiere of the documentary The Heartbeat of Sunset Beach, produced by award winning students at Massey Hill Classical High School in Fayetteville. Many of us went to Fayetteville for the initial showing in January . We have copies of the DVD available at the Old Bridge Store.

Easter at the Old Bridge was on Saturday April 4. Area children and their parents enjoyed an egg hunt, treats, fun and games, and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

The Third Annual Strawberry & Wine Fest was be held on Sunday, April 26 at Silver Coast Winery. We had a great band, delicious food and terrific vendors and sponsors. Thanks to everyone who came out for a wonderful day!

Here’s what we’ve been up to this Fall and Winter:

We had a wonderful evening at Christmas at the Old Bridge on Monday, December 8 even though a rain shower shortened our program. It’s our gift to our community, and it was great seeing neighbors, new friends, and old friends.

Halloween at the Old Bridge was a spooky fun time on October 25. Ghosts, goblins and other assorted creatures had fun and games, refreshments, and a costume contest.

The weekend of October 17 we were delighted to host students from Massey Hill Classical High School in Fayetteville. They are producing a documentary about our favorite subject---The Old Bridge of course! This talented and award winning group spent hours researching, interviewing and filming members of OBPS and other residents of Sunset Beach.

On Saturday, October 4, we were at Sunset at Sunset, the annual community block party. Many friends, both old and new stopped by our booth at the festival to say hello and pick up some Old Bridge merchandise.

Check out this piece from WRAL’s Tar Heel Traveler about the bridge and our new museum!
